After Mom's Wistful Remark, A Maternity Ward Inquisition

Woozy from pain medication after a Caesarean section, swinging from joy over her newborn boy to exhaustion from the strain of delivering him, Karen Piper mentioned to her doctor that she'd been hoping for a girl. She would come to regret those words.

birth politics in Australia

An advocate for natural birth and UC has suffered the greatest of personal loss, her own baby. She is now being publically criticized.

A home birth is not a safe birth?

[Ed. Ok doctors, you may pretend that no baby deaths or injury have occured in Sydney hospitals during the last 8 months. Go right ahead doctors and use this greiving woman for your own political agendas, personal and professional power and gain.]

Dear IRS

Dear IRS,

I am sorry to inform you that I will not be able to pay taxes owed April 15, but all is not lost.

I have paid these taxes: accounts receivable tax, building permit tax, CDL tax, cigarette tax, corporate income tax, dog licence tax, federal income tax, unemployment tax, gasoline tax, hunting licence tax, fishing licence tax, waterfowl stamp tax, inheritance tax, inventory tax, liquor tax, luxury tax, medicare tax, city, school and county property tax (up 33 percent last 4 years), real estate tax, social security tax, road usage tax, toll road tax, state and city sales tax, recreational vehicle tax, state franchise tax, state unemployment tax, telephone federal excise tax, telephone federal state and local surcharge tax, telephone minimum usage surcharge tax, telephone state and local tax, utility tax, vehicle licence registration tax, capitol gains tax, lease severance tax, oil and gas assessment tax, Colorado property tax, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma and New Mexico sales tax, and many more that I can't recall but I have run out of space and money.

When you do not receive my check April 15, just know that it is an honest mistake. Please treat me the same way you treated Congressmen Charles Rangle, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and ex-Congressman Tom Dashelle and, of course, your boss Timothy Geithner. No penalties and no interest.

P.S. I will make at least a partial payment as soon as I get my stimulus check.

natural born citizen

In one of the college classes on US Government, the qualifications to be president were being discussed.

The rules were very simple --- the candidate must be a natural born citizen of at least 35 years of age.

However, one female student in this class immediately started in on how unfair the requirement was "to be a natural born citizen".

It was her opinion that this requirement prevented many capable individuals from becoming president.

The professor and the class were just taking all of this in and letting her rant and rave. But every jaw dropped when she summarized her statements by saying;

"What makes a natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this country than one born by C-section?

[ed. very funny] :-)

On a more serious note... Who exactly is a Natural Born Citizen as defined by our U.S. Constitution?

Natural Born Citizen The legal briefs now before Attorney General Eric Holder and United States Attorney Jeffrey Taylor.

According to law, President Obama has admitted on his own website Fight The Smears that he is not a natural born citizen of the United States whether he was born in Hawaii or not.

US births break record; 40 percent out-of-wedlock

Remember the baby boom? No, not the one after World War II. More babies were born in the United States in 2007 than any other year in the nation's history - and a wedding band made increasingly little difference in the matter. The 4,317,119 births, reported by federal researchers Wednesday, topped a record first set in 1957 at the height of the baby boom.

http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2009Mar18/0,4670,MEDBabyBoomlet,00.html

[Ed. An average of 46% of births are now funded by taxpayers via the government. It is no surprise that fewer women are getting married before the birth of their children. This ensures women and their babies can qualify for state medical. That is unfortunate for these moms and their children since a father and husband will provide better for them for the rest of their lives. Soulless government intervention is responsible for enabling much of this trend, to the family's disadvantage.]

lies about health care data

The Numbers - abcNEWS
Medical Bankruptcies: A Data-Check

President Obama’s kicking off his health care reform today in the worst possibleway: with a mischaracterization of data.

“The cost of health care now causes a bankruptcy in America every thirty seconds," Obama said at the opening of his White House forum on health care reform. The problem: That claim, based on a 2001 survey, is simply unsupportable.

State Slaps Doc's Giving Health Care for FEE

An enterprising New York physician sick of dealing with tedious and time-consuming health-insurance practices is cutting out the middleman and offering unlimited office care directly to patients for $79 a month.

State Slaps Dr. Do-good
The state is trying to shut down a New York City doctor's ambitious plan to treat uninsured patients for around $1,000 a year.

Dr. John Muney offers his patients everything from mammograms to mole removal at his AMG Medical Group clinics, which operate in all five boroughs.

"I'm trying to help uninsured people here," he said.

[Ed. The government IS the reason why medical care is at least 60% over-priced]

Ruin Your Health With the Stimulus Plan

Are you really ready for this? Here's a couple highlights:

"Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system."

"The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions."

"Hospitals and doctors that are not “meaningful users” of the new system will face penalties. “Meaningful user” isn’t defined in the bill."

Elderly Hardest Hit
"Daschle says health-care reform “will not be pain free.” Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them. That means the elderly will bear the brunt."

This board approves or rejects treatments using a formula that divides the cost of the treatment by the number of years the patient is likely to benefit. Treatments for younger patients are more often approved than treatments for diseases that affect the elderly, such as osteoporosis.

Hidden Provisions
Hiding health legislation in a stimulus bill is intentional.
“The issue is too important to be stalled by Senate protocol.”

The health-care industry is the largest employer in the U.S. It produces almost 17 percent of the nation’s gross domestic product. Yet the bill treats health care the way European governments do: as a cost problem instead of a growth industry. Imagine limiting growth and innovation in the electronics or auto industry during this downturn. This stimulus is dangerous to your health and the economy.

breech baby born by surprise

The technician looked at me and said, 'My dear, you're pregnant with a full-term baby.' And I said: 'No sir, you got the wrong woman and you're looking at the wrong screen. There is no way I'm pregnant.'"

But the disbelieving mom-to-be was taken to the case room, and soon after Nicholas made his entrance into the world.

"Bum first," said Dr. Olalekan Akintola, who delivered the baby, "which is quite rare now. Babies that are born breeched are usually delivered by caesarean section, but there was no time to do this with this little guy - he was already coming."
